A good majority of all leaks in residential plumbing systems are found in the toilet tank. Toilet tank leaks typically result from worn parts or improper alignment of some part of the flushing mechanism. Having your toilet tuned up or rebuilt will eliminate this waste of water and can decrease your water bill.
Typically this is due to a sediment buildup in your tank. As water heaters age, they accumulate sediment and hard water deposits. If these deposits are not removed periodically, the sediment will create a barrier between the burner and the water, reducing the water heater’s performance level. This can result in an increase in the amount of electricity or gas required to deliver hot water.
This problem is usually caused by the water lines not being properly isolated and secured where your water lines come into contact with wood, metal or drywall. It can be fixed if your water lines are easily accessible by using plastic pipe holders that go between your water lines and the above mentioned materials.
